who's tired?....

we are all a little pooped.
It's been a good, but long week.
We started the week with lots of travel days.
We spent Sunday night in Atlanta and traveled to Macon, GA on Monday for our first show back after layoff. We got up early at 6:15am Tuesday traveling all day to Fayetteville, NC for a performance there.
Then, Wednesday we had another early morning 5:15am on our way to Columbus, GA and we were there for 2 days!

So...lots of early bus days into show.

Friday was an easier morning we left at 10:30 on our way to Huntsville, AL and we stayed here all weekend.
Did you count how many shows that was this week?
It was 9!
Our usual show week is 8.
Before layoff we had an easy 5 show week so we haven't had this many performances in one week in awhile.
Lots of people have been sick/injured this week, which happens. :(
We miss them when they are out of the show, but our swings are amazing!
Joey Elrose was on as Lonny and Dennis this week.
It must have been fun, but I don't know how he keeps everything straight!

Here's a little video I recorded of Justin and Joey last night at intermission...lol

I also recorded a backstage tour video last night.
Did you check it out yet?

Tomorrow, we travel to Detroit, MI!
...never been there...
Any suggestions on things to do!
We have a week sit down there! We haven't been in one city for a week since Ft. Meyers!
Everyone is VERY excited!

HeRe wE gO AgAiN...

We made it to Alabama people!

The show last night was a good time!

A few people in the cast are getting sick/ sick. Hopefully they will feel much better soon!

Since people are sick we've had a lot of swings on this week.
Last night, Joey Elrose was on for Dennis because Matt Ban is feeling a little under the weather.
When he was on last night there was an incident with the phone.

I'm going to share the story with you...
Now, I didn't actually see this happen because I'm walking around to the front of the house for my entrance, but I heard about it from many people backstage.

Apparently, after the Mayor's office scene Joey got a little caught up in the phone cord.
He reenacted it for me.
After the scene he puts the phone on the bar and walks off in the dark. I guess it got caught on his leg last night.
Imagine this...
He puts the phone on the bar.
Then, BOOM, and it's on the ground.
So he goes to pick it up quickly in the dark and fumbles a bit.
He puts it back up on the bar, but it's still caught on his leg.
Joey walks off and BOOM. It's on the ground again.
The lights are now just about to come on.
He DIVES behind the bar with the phone still attached and proceeds to crawl off through the kitchen door.
This was all quite loud I guess.
Lights come up.
Dom is onstage for the next scene trying to hold it together.
They get through "I Wanna Rock," but then during the scene after the phone is supposed to ring.
Well, Joey took the phone OFF with him.
There is no phone onstage.
Tush comes on and says her line "Sherrie, your Mom's on the phone."
Awkward.
She didn't realize the phone wasn't there until she got ON stage.

haha....oops.

It's been awhile...

welcome back!

We are back from our week long layoff!
It was great being home, seeing family, and then heading back to NYC for a few days!
I miss that city!!

When I was home in Greendale, WI I got the chance to talk to my high school's theater classes. It was great to share my experiences from tour with the classes and share all that I've done since high school with my old director Mr. Christensen.
I love Greendale!
I have a really cute hometown.

Before layoff we were in lovely St. Louis, MO.
Here's a video of Dominique, Alyssa, and I. We went on a walk to the St. Louis Arch that was near our hotel!

Here's what happened...
We went for a walk to the Arch, it was beautiful outside. My lovely roomie Alyssa thought it'd be a great idea to roll down the hill. Fun! Right? Dominique went with it.
I passed the offer to join and got out my camera to document the action.
Alyssa gave Dominique her glasses to hold as she rolled down. Somehow during this game of putt putt they fell off his jacket onto the ground.
oops.

Turns out rolling down THIS hill was not such a good plan. Other hills... great idea!
We didn't inspect the grass very carefully.
There was geese poop EVERYWHERE. Literally, all over the place. Especially closer to the water. Every step you took was at risk of being poopy. You get the picture...
It was sick.
And Alyssa ROLLED IN IT.
haha
That Alyssa.
SO glad I had my camera with me.

The Arch and the water was beautiful. It was a great walk after a long bus ride.

I have more videos I'm working on from Joey, Darren, and I's tourist adventures.
If you've never been to St. Louis check them out to see what you're missing out on!

Also, I created a FanPage on Facebook where I'm going to start doing backstage video updates hopefully this week!

ThAnK YoU FaBuLoUs FOX ThEaTeR!!

St. Louis...what a trip.

I had an amazing weekend in St. Louis.
I think we all did.
WE broke ROCK OF AGES audience records!
Saturday night we had 2,986 people in the audience.
The FOX theater is by far the most beautiful theater I have ever been in.
Backstage was amazing. The talent that has performed on that stage is incredible.
I know we all felt so grateful to be able to perform there.

ALSO- this weekend our cast was visited by our FABULOUS director!...Adam John Hunter!
It was such a wonderful surprise to have him in the audience Friday night!
He gave us all notes and cleaned the show, which is also really exciting! He hasn't seen the show since opening weekend in Providence, RI.

I did some major tourist exploring on Friday with Joey Elrose and our music director Darren Ledbetter!
We went on the Budweiser Brew Tour, went UP inside the St. Louis arch (so cool), AND went to the City Museum.
WE did all of this from 11am-5pm ...before our show that night!
Serious Tourists.

Has everyone seen the video I posted last week from waaaay back in New Haven, CT??

Well, stay tuned for video from my tourist adventures from Friday!
This week...lay off!
Time to go home...relax...see family..and get healthy...
I'm sick!
:(
I HATE being sick.
...but I guess I picked the best time to catch a cold.

Bring on the vitamin C...mucinex..and vocal rest..
Sorry to my family that I'm not healthy for my trip home.

Thanks for a FANTASTIC weekend St. Louis.
I LOVE the FOX THEATER!

IL?...Iowa?...who knows....i'm on a BUS.

It's been an eventful Thursday travel day so far....

WELL.
Lisa Finegold had a splinter in her right? (I think) foot!!
It was large.
and deep.
I'd say about half an inch long.

I was the one who found it in her foot.
Stephen did operation on her foot on the bus this morning.
He used a tweezer and carefully pulled that sucker right out!
ThAnK GoD.

Other life CHANGING...EXCITING news...from today...
Our 30 minute lunch stop.
We stopped at the
WORLDS LARGEST TRUCK STOP.

In IOWA. ....I don't know exactly where in Iowa.
Somewhere on our red bus...all I see in farmland...flat. flat. corn fields covered in snow.
for miles and miles....

You're ALL jealous.
Just.
Jealous.
the real deal.

Oh yeah ...it is winter isn't it...

It's 13 degrees outside...it was 9 degrees an hour ago, but at least it's sunny?

Last week seemed like a lovely a vacation in the sun.
I wish we were in Florida longer.

We flew Monday morning to St. Louis and had the night off.
Yesterday, we drove to chilly Peroia, IL.

I'm missin' that pool.

We had a huge crowd last night for a Tuesday night audience.

I only got one bruise during the show last night.

I have been a bit more clumsy than usual lately....
Last night I got a bruise on my leg when Stephen lifted me during "Search is Over."

At least I didn't fall.
Last week, I fell.
Terrible.
It happened after the scene with Franz about following his dreams.
The girls and I are all chained together. I say "You're a good guy Franz," and he runs off.
Then, we walk off in the dark with the chains on us.
I was really acting.
 lol.
very sad, pouty walk off.
committed.

....TOO committed.
Well, I walked TOO hard stepping on the chain.
I slipped.
I landed.
BOOM!
...I'm sprawled out right next to the pole onstage.
(Thank God I didn't hit that again..)

Oh.
That's not all....
I didn't go down alone.

I took Tush down with me because....well, we are attached by the chain.
The lights come up.
We are still on the ground.
Looking Foolish.
We scurry offstage as fast as we can while the next scene is literally STARTING.
But...
The entire audience already saw us on the floor.
Just embarrassing.
Cue the LAUGHTER from the audience.

I know funny.
You know what they didn't know.
That fall REALLY hurt!
I had a bruise on my hand and my knee!
double ouch.

AND.
Tush fell earlier that day at the first show.
She had a double fall day.
twice.

haha.

ok.

it's funny.

So yesterday's bruise....not AS funny..
Stephen lifts me during "Search is Over"...and my boobs are usually in his face.
I just don't get up there very high.
It's an exciting day when I do.

But yesterday I was flyin' high!
BUT, on the way up his belt jabbed right into my knee.
hard.
ouch.
I kept smiling though.
(I get really excited when he lifts me really high!)
It was a gooooood show.
OOoo Guess what!?
Earlier during "Hit Me," I also ALMOST got all the way down in my split!
It's a Rock of Ages miracle!!
I don't think you understand.
I'm NOT a flexible girl. I've never been able to do a split my entire life!
It's been a problem.
It's something I seriously am going to work on in 2012!

(Maybe if I hold the other split during "Can't Fight This Feeling" for the next 3 months I'll have BOTH splits!)
#flexibiltyproblems

SO.
Who's excited???

Mary Postotnik
(my mother)
is HERE TODAY!
woot woot.

She didn't leave as early as I wanted her to, but she'll be here by 2pm.
Sometimes you just need your Mom to come visit!
Thankfully we are close to WI.
It's only about a 3 hour drive!

It's going to be a good day.
much love.
Katie

HAPPY NEW YEAR!! 2012!

Happy 2012 Everyone!

I hope everyone had a fantastic holiday season.
We sure did!
The holidays are over...time for those New Years Resolutions to start...

A new year...it is a time for new beginnings..new opportunities...
I personally made some goals for the new year...
have you?

2011 was a great year.

I loved living in NYC.
I babysat for an amazing family, took classes, auditioned, learned a lot about myself, booked this amazing job, and hit the road with my new ROA family.
I am so blessed.
I am so grateful for this wonderful opportunity and to work with such a loving cast.
just thankful.

Here are some quotes for the new year...
why not?
i mean right?

Cheers to a new year and another chance for us to get it right.

Oprah Winfrey
(I LOVE OPRAH!...)

We will open the book. Its pages are blank. We are going to put words on them ourselves. The book is called “Opportunity” and its first chapter is New Year’s Day.
Edith L. Pierce
Write it on your heart that every day is the best day in the year.
Ralph Waldo Emerson
Always bear in mind that your own resolution to succeed is more important than any other.

-Abraham Lincoln

The bad news is time flies. The good news is you’re the pilot.

Michael Altshuler

Learn from yesterday, live for today, hope for tomorrow.
Einstein
What will the new year bring for you?
Earlier this week we were in sunny Sarasota, FL.
It was beautiful, but for some reason it was only 45 degrees!!! terrible.
The beach looked SO gorgeous. I wanted to go jump in it terribly!
We are on our way to Virginia right now.

We have had some long bus rides...5am-5pm yesterday!
You're all jealous... I know!

BUT!
I finished editing this video from East Lansing!

Here's another holiday video... from our gingerbread house making experience...

ENJOY!

Did everyone see the Holiday Jam??

Everyone saw the Holiday Jam right??

well if not...watch this!

It's almost the New Year!

Our week back from Christmas break has been great!
Charlotte, NC has been a blast! The audiences have been rockin'! The theater is great- they have cabaret seating in the front, which is wonderful. I just love it when the audience is close to the stage!
Everyone does!

Today was a lazy day....last night we had a rockin' party at Vida for KATE EGAN!
open bar.
#phoenixistheshit.
LOVE THEM.
no seriously.
Kate Egan is leaving us for BROADWAY!
SO excited for her....but we are all going to miss her!
What an amazing company manager....
we will miss her SO SO much.

bAcK tO LiFe, bAcK to ReAliTy......MERRY (almost) CHRISTMAS YA'LL!!!!!

Back to real life....
We've opened in East Lansing, Michigan!
You know what that means???

No more one nighters!
We have AN ENTIRE WEEK sit down here!!
AND...it's only ONE week till our break for CHRISTMAS!!

Who LOVES Christmas??

ME !
I do!

What Christmas movies have you watched so far???
please comment on my blog and let me know people...

I've watched...
Elf, Santa Claus 2- (well I tried to..), MUPPET CHRISTMAS CAROL, and Grinch..
I know.
...
not enough.

What is your favorite Christmas Album??

I LOVE love love.
Mariah Carey's and...Hanson's...
it's true.

Personally, I love giving gifts.
I love it.
I love receiving gifts as well.
I know I know..that's not the TRUE MEANING of Christmas!
But I like to get people things to make them feel extra special and LOVED.

I love to BE surprised as well, but I'm TERRIBLE at surprising people.
Why?
Well, because when I buy things I get WAY too excited about what I found for them and I want to show them or tell them right away!
....i just can't keep a present secret....
it's a Christmas problem.

Tomorrow is our company Christmas Party.
Can't wait.

That means we get to give our LAST Secret Santa present out...AND..we get to find out who our Secret  Santa is...
Wanna know who I have??
Can't tell you because he might read it, but if you ask me in person I'll totally tell you because I have a big mouth.

CLEARLY.
I have some SERIOUS updating to do on this blog.
Here's the skinny on Canada.
It was cold...It was Thanksgiving week in Canada..not America, but the people at the Centre in the Square in Kitchener were great! They threw us TWO after parties with dancing, music, food, AND a fun photo booth.
Amazing.

Here is a video from the first party!

...coming tomorrow...
(it's ON youtube..it wouldn't upload internet's slow...)

Also, the BIGGEST Regina fan out there came to see the show...
Natasha Lenartowych
She made me a beautiful self portrait!
check it out!
so great.
Here she is with Stephen Kane (Franz) and I at the after party!
It's true.
She dressed up as little Regina for all the shows she came to, which was  A LOT.
Girl even skipped out of high school to come see our Wednesday matinee.

Dedicated.

Enjoy some pictures from our Rock of Ages Family Turkey Day gathering in Canada!
family.
Alyssa and Patrick!
Dom and Katie!
Lisa and her FULL full tummy!
Katie, Stephen, and Joey!
More of the gang!

All in all...a lovely Thanksgiving!
Thanks to Phoenix Entertainment for the wonderful holiday meal!!
MUCH LOVE!

We all had SO much to be Thankful for this Thanksgiving.
Wonderful Company
Wonderful Show
Incredible Experience.
It's going to be a great rest of the year.

After Canada....it was back to the bus...
Canada..it was fun...
Matt Nolan lost it wallet.
Shannon lost her phone.
and Dom lost his wallet...
No PERSON had to stay behind in Canada though...so I'd say it was a successful trip!

The next two weeks were a blurr...
seriously...
one nighters...baltimore..
one nighters...new haven...
lots of BUS time.
This is the view from my bus seat.
 Lovely isn't it.
My Sexy Secret Santa knows me well and got me MUPPET Christmas stickers for my window.
I have my name tag, Rainbow (my unicorn from Joey), and my Burger King crown and toy from my kids me.
That just about sums me up.

Stay Tuned for more videos and Christmas FUN!
